Set of Three Antique French 20th Century Stoneware Hand Mold for Gloves Forms
dec-1844
This interesting set of vintage wooden hand forms originate from France ( each stamped “Made in France” and size of gloves ), when such molds were commonly used in glove making, tailoring, and industrial display. Made of composite material, each hand was originally designed as a functional tool; used to shape, stretch, or display gloves during production.
Over time, these objects have taken on a sculptural quality. When grouped together, the hands create an architectural composition that feels both industrial and poetic. They work exceptionally well as statement pieces in libraries, on entry consoles, or retail interiors.
