20th Century Provencal Painted Metal Châteauneuf-du-Pape Harvesting Carrier in Black
DEC-1848
A vintage French grape-harvesting metal hotte of tapered form with a worn, time-softened surface, in good condition. The painted metal vessel features the iconic lettering Châteauneuf-du-Pape and retains its original carrying strap, traditionally used for vineyard work. The emblem with two entwined crossed keys references the historic Papal heritage of the town.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a renowned commune in the southern Rhône Valley, celebrated for its vineyards and red wine appellation, with much of its arable land devoted to viticulture.
A charming and characterful decorative object, ideal for a wine cellar, bar area, kitchen, or restaurant interior. Minor fading, oxidation, and surface wear are present, consistent with age and use.
