Large garden jar planter hand crafted in Provence, France. The hand-modeled terracotta bodice features a wonderful, chalky-colored patina. The neck and rim of the authentic French planter have a hand-painted green glaze.

Traditionally, the glaze was also used on the Biot jars to prevent insects from intruding on the interior. The vessel is not frost-proof and should be either emptied and covered or brought inside to overwinter in cold weather. Drainage hole is provided; finishes and sizes may vary.
