An elegant Italian lidded garden urn made of terra cotta clay with an antiqued patina. This type of lidded garden urn was already used in the Pre-Renaissance period in Tuscany. These vessels were used to maintain the temperature in the lemon fields during the cold months of the year. They were filled with carbon bricks every 4–5 hours throughout the day and night to keep the temperature above 0 degrees Celsius.
