A pair of Mid 20th Century Italian dog garden statues in sitting position on rectangular base. These Tuscan dogs are hand crafted by hand in Italian terracotta clay. This extinct dog race originated during antique times in the south parts of the Mediterranean. Today, these statues are still visible in the British museum, Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence and in the museum of the Vatican in Rome. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950, Italy.
