Pair of Willy Guhl Saucer Planters

A Mid Century modern pair of original Willy Guhl saucer planters raised on metal bases. The large and shallow garden planters are made of fiber cement from “Eternit”, naturally aged weathered surface and weather resistant. Wear consistent with age and use.

Willy Guhl was a furniture maker, interior designer, teacher and a product designer born in 1915, in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland and passed away in 2004. Guhl finished his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, Switzerland. He opened his own design studio and workshop in 1939. In 1943, he co-founded the Association of Swiss Interior Designers and in 1966, the Association of Swiss Industrial Designers. Guhl's work is known for his weather-resistant cement designs produced by the Swiss company Eternit.
