Alexander the Great, the king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon. He was well known to invade and conquer many lands including the Persian Empire, Asia Minor. After the fall of Persia the Macedonic Empire held vast territories between the Adriatic and the Indus River. His settlement of the Greek colonists and Greek culture led to the dominance of Hellenistic civilization as far as the Indian subcontinent.
