A set of two Mid-Century modern rare Tulip garden planters by Willy Guhl in lightweight cement These vintage outdoor planters have been fiber-reinforced. One of them has cut corners. Wear consistent with age and use, for outdoor use. Circa 1960 France. Can be a pair with PON-1329.
Willy Guhl was a furniture maker, interior designer, teacher, and product designer born in 1915, in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland, and passed away in 2004. Guhl finished his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, Switzerland. He opened his design studio and workshop in 1939. In 1943, he co-founded the Association of Swiss Interior Designers and in 1966, the Association of Swiss Industrial Designers. Guhl's work is known for his weather-resistant designs in lightweight cement.
