European Terra Cotta Planters
Hand molded in Tuscany and Provence, these Italian and French Terra Cotta Planters are crafted using centuries-old techniques that date back to the Etruscan civilization. During the Renaissance, prominent and wealthy families, like the Medici in Italy and aristocratic families in France, adorned their palaces with these exquisite works of art. The regions around Impruneta in Tuscany and the South of France are known as the heart of Terra Cotta and Ceramics production. The "Galestro clay" used is fired slowly at very high temperatures, up to 1,000 degrees Celsius, allowing the clay and minerals to fuse together in a unique process. Today, these handmade planters are frost-resistant and represent the highest quality of terra cotta available. Please contact us for more information. We always carry these beautiful planters, including exceptionally large ones. Custom orders are also available—please call or email us for a quote.
