A tall 19th/20th Century basket or hotte was used for collecting the grapes in the vineyards. The rim has a beautiful woven detail and the bottom was reinforced with a wooden base. Made of warm colored willow and oak. The grape collector would strap the basket to their back and place them instantly into the container. Wear consistent with age and use. Champagne region, France.
