Madame Olive Prost is a French artist born in 1956 in Rennes, Brittany. As a young woman she joined the studio of Jean Gobaille, a well-known French artist who had sold a painting to the French government. Under Gobaille’s supervision, she learned the skills of reality and half-tone painting.

She studied at the L’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Rennes and later found herself drawn to the world of fashion. There she worked for various high fashion designers, such as Giorgio Armani. Inspired by the incredible elegance of the designers’ clothing, she was led back to painting.

In 2010 she found much success with an exhibition of her paintings at The Yacht Club de Dinard in Brittany. More exhibitions followed at the Yacht Club de France in Paris, the Parlement de Bretagne in Rennes and for six consecutive years, in the salon of the Hotel Barriere Grand Hotel in Dinard.

Currently Madame Prost lives in Dinard where she paints in her studio, capturing a nostalgic memory, a moment from life, the romance of trans-Atlantic journeys. She draws inspiration from fashion photography of the 1950s showing elegantly dressed, feminine women. The picturesque backdrop of La Cote d’Emeraude provides her with the setting for her seaside ladies.

Authentic Provence has commissioned Madame Olive Prost to share her delightful visions of a trans-Atlantic journey departing from the north of France to Palm Beach, Florida.
