Large cup shaped shallow garden planter hand painted in the beautiful blue hues of the Mediterranean raised on a circular foot. Hand thrown and decorated in the traditional manner of French Terra Cotta Clay Pottery with Swags and crests. Handmade in Provence, France so sizes and finishes may vary.
The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm
